As we all know, the cost of continuing business during the COVID-19 Pandemic has continued to rise. Due to the unpredictability in the market and the consistency of higher truck costs, we find it necessary to extend our Peak Season surcharge past our anticipated end date. This will now be renamed a Capacity Surcharge.
 
With this in mind, American Linehaul will extend the $5.00 per HWB surcharge until further notice. This not a permanent surcharge and will be relieved once the cost of purchase transportation levels out.

The American Linehaul family lost a member of it's LAX Team when David Rubio passed away due to Covid-19 on January 6. He was a local driver in Los Angeles and well-loved by his coworkers. It is said that he was a "teddy bear" and a very vibrant person, with an amazing sense of humor, and one-of-a-kind loud laugh. He will be missed by everyone who's lives he touched.

Prior to his illness, David had left the country to travel to Mexico to care for his father, David Sr., who passed away from Covid-19 on January 1. It was there that he contracted Covid-19. His daughter, Alizay, who is 12 years old and lives in Los Angeles, also has Covid-19 and is currently hospitalized in Guadalajara on a ventilator.  Their family is raising funds to cover Alizay's medical bills and her immediate transfer to a more equipped hospital in Guadalajara.

We felt it necessary to remove this destination from our service schedule during the winter months in order to mitigate service failures and unpredicatable costs. As we all know, the cost of continuing business during the COVID-19 Pandemic has continued to rise. American Linehaul has made temporary, yet necessary, adjustment to its West Coast California Surcharge, effecting all LAX, SAN, SFO, and SMF outbound shipments. As you are likely aware, there is currently a significant increase in cost with trucks coming off of the West Coast. Our current West Coast surcharge of 7% is no longer in line with the increase costs that we are facing.  As American Linehaul continues to make sure that our costs are in line, we need to increase our West Coast Surcharge to 9.5% effective Monday, July 26, 2020. This will be a temporary, emergency, increase in surcharge. We look forward to decreasing this surcharge as costs get more in line out of the West Coast market.

Dear Valued Customer,

As you are aware, in the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 9, 2019, American Linehaul’s software provider suffered a ransomware hacking attack. This attack was severe and rendered our internal database useless and took our entire online system offline for nearly a week.

On Wednesday, January 15, we were very happy to announce that our internal system has been restored. However, at that time, various processes required additional attention and additional time to restore. American Linehaul's online booking and tracking platform and the EDI platform were among the items on that list.

We are pleased to announce that effective 11:30 PM EST on Monday, 1/21/19, the online booking and tracking systems have been fully restored. Our EDI system has been approximately half restored and we look forward to bringing that 100% live in the coming days.

For the first week of this outage, we were working off of an alternate database and realize that it has brought certain difficulties to your operations. The additional week without the online logins brought definitive challenges for both our own company as well as our customer base; the modern day reliance on technology is real.

We fully appreciate the loyalty and patience that our valued customer base has shown us throughout this challenging last week. Your words of support and wisdom have not gone unheard and we will not forget how much we have appreciated them.

American Linehaul Upgrades MCO, MIA, TPA Service into Northeast

• Adds TPA outbound
• Upgrades inbound TPA from Northeast
• Adds Service Intra-Florida

Effective December 11, 2018, American Linehaul has upgraded service outbound Orlando, FL (MCO), Miami, FL (MIA) and Tampa, FL (TPA) to the Northeast markets. This exciting upgrade was made possible thanks to the addition of American Linehaul’s newest regional hub in MCO.

Tender freight in MCO, MIA and TPA for 2^nd day service into the following Northeast destinations:
ABE, BDL, BOS, BWI, EWR, IAD, JFK, MDT & PHL.

American Linehaul now offers 2^nd day service from the Northeast into TPA. This exciting upgrade will save one day of transit time when compared to the previous ALC schedule.
 
American Linehaul has also added service outbound TPA as well as service Intra-Florida.

This addition includes service exit TPA into all the American Linehaul service points, including the new 2^nd day service into the Northeast.

Over the past few years, there has been a vast change in the types of business tendered to American Linehaul. Density has diminished and these differences have challenged our ability to effectively maximize the available cubic feet in each load. Through this, American Linehaul has continued to provide quality, on-time service at a competitive rate, but has also felt the effects of this industry shift.
Due to this change in our load factors, American Linehaul feels it is in our best interest to alter our dim rule to a 200 dim factor effective February 1, 2016. This adjustment will help ALC remain a viable competitor in today's marketplace as we move toward the future.
